Glassjaw On The Move?

September 24, 2010

Glassjaw have been fairly dormant years. Since the release of 2003’s “Worship and Tribute” the band had been on hiatus. Promises of a new album were made, and here we are towards the end of 2010 and still no album. Things have been heating up for Glassjaw fans though. The band has been playing shows on and off all year, and a few weeks ago they released their first physical release in years; a new song “All Good Junkies Go To Heaven” on vinyl. This was followed up with a film clip for another new song “You Think You’re (John Fuckin Lennon)”. Follow that with another vinyl release of another new song “Jesus Glue” and yet ANOTHER new video called “Stars” and all signs are pointing to a new release coming very soon.

Enjoy the new videos and head over to glassjaw.com to purchase a digital copy of “All Good Junkies Go To Heaven” for $1.

ADTR Release New Album News.

September 22, 2010

Ocala faithful A Day To Remember have revealed the titled of their fourth studio album, entitled “What Separates Me From You”. Which follows up on their smashing 2009 effort “Homesick”. The announcement was made during a live video on the Victory Records website.

Also being revealed was the album art, (which we’ve kindly sourced below, for your viewing pleasure). The albums release has also been pushed back from the original October 26th date, to the now later November 16th. Which means a little longer wait, but if the album is anything like the successful “Homesick”, it will have been well worth it.

Pennsylvanian Christian Metalcore quintet August Burns Red will release their first CD/DVD, simply titled “Home” at the end of September. Featuring the bands performance at Warehouse 54 in Manheim, Pennsylvania. The DVD not only features their live performance, but is also accompanied by a documentary, detailing the bands life behind the scenes and on the road.

The live performance features 14 tracks from all 3 of the bands studio albums; “Constellations” – 2009, “Messengers” – 2007 and finally 2005’s “Thrill Seeker”. So there will be a little something for both new and old fans to enjoy.

The CD/DVD will be released on the bands long time label Solid State Records.

Just to wet the taste buds, here is a little trailer for the upcoming release to get you in the mood.

It seems that all the good news is coming from Twitter of late – Blink-182 headlining the Big Day Out and now coming straight from the horses mouth Aussie hardcore band Break Even announce they are supporting Alexisonfire during their Australian tour.

Final Soundwave 2011 Additions

September 17, 2010

Soundwave 2011 was already big, but recent addition of One Day As A Lion has certainly made it even bigger. A new collaboration between Zack de la Rocha (Rage Against The Machine) and Jon Theodore (The Mars Volta) will be heading to Australia for the very first time to dazzle audiences with their amazing live show.

Add this to recent news of Bullet For My Valentine, Bring Me The Horizon, The Murderdolls, Millencolin, Coheed & Cambria and local heroes The Amity Affliction and we have a very solid Soundwave Lineup for 2011.

Who are you excited to see?

A Perfect Circle are back with a brand new lineup after announcing three tour dates in which they will play the entirety of their albums, one each night.

The new lineup consists of founding Memebers Maynard James Keenan and Billy Howerdell, along with new members Josh Freese, Matt McJunkins and former Smashing Pumpkins guitarist James Iha.

This is exciting news for those of you who are fans out there, but personally I think this band could quite possibly be one of the worst acts out there.

Okay, so I realize that we’re a couple of days behind, so apologies on behalf of the CD’s & Shit crew.
If you didn’t know already, the one man music machine “Muscles” has finally dropped his new single “Girls Go Crazy”.
After a very longggg wait since his debut album, “Guns, Babes, Lemonade”, we are finally given a taste of what’s to come off his latest installment, which will be released on October 29.

“Girl Go Crazy” is a little different to his earlier work, it’s still infectiously synthy and poppy, but Muscles seems to showcase his clearly improved vocals in the main choruses. He also seems to have mastered the world of Ableton, with each of his loops executed perfectly creating what truley is a pleasure to listen to. So here it is, “Girls Go Crazy”

Digitalism Return to Aus

September 14, 2010

Everyone gets excited when their favourite act comes to Australia; it’s a given. When I read that the German dance-punk duo were coming to our shores, I damn near wet myself. However, as I continued further into the article and only saw Perth dates confirmed, I managed to control my bladder.
Returning to Australia for the signature New Years bash, “Club Paradiso”, the pair of electronic wizards are sure to drop bombs on the unsuspecting Western Australian punters. Are there more dates? Only time will tell. But until then, check out some of my favourite tracks off of 2007’s “Idealism”, and 2008’s “Moshi Moshi EP”. And just because I can, a Daft Punk remix which fucking rules.

Digitalism – Pogo
Digitalism – Idealistic
Digitalism – Echoes
Daft Punk – Technologic (Digitalism Remix)

Veterans Jimmy Eat World are currently streaming 60 second clips of each track that is appearing on their highly anticipated album Invented. Simply go to JimmyEatWorld.com to have a listen.

Invented is due out September 28.
