ADTR Release New Album News.

September 22, 2010

Ocala faithful A Day To Remember have revealed the titled of their fourth studio album, entitled “What Separates Me From You”. Which follows up on their smashing 2009 effort “Homesick”. The announcement was made during a live video on the Victory Records website.

Also being revealed was the album art, (which we’ve kindly sourced below, for your viewing pleasure). The albums release has also been pushed back from the original October 26th date, to the now later November 16th. Which means a little longer wait, but if the album is anything like the successful “Homesick”, it will have been well worth it.

Pennsylvanian Christian Metalcore quintet August Burns Red will release their first CD/DVD, simply titled “Home” at the end of September. Featuring the bands performance at Warehouse 54 in Manheim, Pennsylvania. The DVD not only features their live performance, but is also accompanied by a documentary, detailing the bands life behind the scenes and on the road.

The live performance features 14 tracks from all 3 of the bands studio albums; “Constellations” – 2009, “Messengers” – 2007 and finally 2005’s “Thrill Seeker”. So there will be a little something for both new and old fans to enjoy.

The CD/DVD will be released on the bands long time label Solid State Records.

Just to wet the taste buds, here is a little trailer for the upcoming release to get you in the mood.

Smooth, Chilled & Talented.

There’s something about Bruno Mars that sets him apart from many others in his genre of music. At only 23, this young man has an exceptional amount of talent and thankfully it’s being put to good use. While many follow the commercial and generic route, Bruno Mars sets a standard that really does showcase what he’s capable of doing.

Firstly his song writing ability is quite refreshing, and shows plenty of maturity along with class. Mixing together elements from hip hop, funk, pop, soul and a dash of alternative, it shows how diverse he can be leaving many avenues open for him to explore and take advantage of musically.

His 4 track EP titled It’s Better If You Don’t Understand, was greeted with very positive reviews after it’s release in May this year. It showcases all the elements this guy is about and his diversity (and I’m not talking about the old old wooden ship either).

If you find yourself hooked after listening to the EP and want more, don’t fret. He’s expected to release his debut album in October. So make sure to keep an eye out, it shouldn’t disappoint.

Otherwise this talented singer songwriter is one cool cat to keep an eye on.

Bring Me The Horizon have dropped another new track on their Myspace, that will feature on their forthcoming album, “There Is A Hell Believe Me I’ve Seen It, There Is A Heaven Lets Keep It A Secret.” Simply titled “Fuck”, it’s the second track the band has released, having given everyone a taste with “It Never Ends” only a few weeks ago.

This time featuring You Me At Six’s vocalist Josh Franceschi, “Fuck” is quite different to what listeners witnessed with “It Never Ends”. The track does have a quicker tempo and feel, more coinciding with what was found on “Suicide Seasons”. Yet beyond the screaming and guitar rifts, a melodic side still shines through. And this is of course where Josh Franceschi comes into the frame providing the clean vocals.

This will probably raise a few more arguments and of course opinions on the band. Purely because of the drastic style change they’ve undergone over the years. For me, I think this is merely a show of maturing artists and a band looking to progress, without being one of those bands who produce the same things over and over again.

“There Is A Hell Believe Me I’ve Seen It, There Is A Heaven Lets Keep It A Secret.” hits selves in Australia on October 8th. So be sure to keep an eye out for one of the most anticipated albums of the year.

Until then, treat yourselves to the two tracks currently out.

We’ve all had those times when we’ve seen or heard something and instantly fallen in love. A bond is forged, with whatever has captured your attention and it becomes a part of you. Well this can be said with a little band by the name of Lower Definition, or “Lower D” as they’re affectionately referred as by core fans.

Hailing from the famous San Diego music scene in California , this 5 piece Post-Hardcore unit make music the way it should be done. A perfect balance of pure aggression and energy, passion and raw emotion, that is delivered through-out each of their songs. Something many other bands could learn a thing or two from, rather than following that dangling carrot in front of them.

Their 2007 debut EP titled “Moths”, showcases everything that the band is about. Soaring melodies of vocalist Matt Geise and a sound that really does grab you by the short and curlies, pulling you in. 7 tracks just doesn’t seem to be enough, as you’re left fiending for more. Luckily for you, there is. A debut album soon followed in 2008, entitled “The Greatest Of All Lost Arts”, which did pull a few mixed emotions from a section of fans. Some feel it’s a little lacking when measured up against the very impressive “Moths”, while there are those who appreciate it of all of it’s value. Either way, it’s something that each individual listener will need to decide for themselves. “TGOALA” as it’s usually abbreviated down to, features 11 tracks of the same passion, energy and emotion that featured on the EP. However it also does have a slightly more mellow side to the album and not quite that hard-hitting impact that “Moths” had. The album also features guest vocals by Jonny Craig (Dance Gavin Dance & Emarosa) on the track “Pueblo Cicada”, which any fans of his other projects will pick up fairly quickly.

On Oct 27th, 2009, After a near year-long hiatus after the release of their album. Former Sky Eats Airplane and current Of Mice & Men front-man Jerry Roush released the following tweet on twitter, reading; “In case you guys didn’t know… the band #lowerdefinition has rekindled the flame and are working on a new record. Get siked bitches!”

Which is good news for all Lower D fans. Losing a band with such enthusiasm for making music the way it should be done, would be a great loss. If only more bands followed the ethos of these guys. Taking the music back to what it should be, artistic expression with plentiful amounts of emotion. For not only themselves but just as importantly, the fans.

A Toast To The Future…

September 9, 2010

Kind of an ironic title for the first track you’ll hear when pressing play on Emarosa’s latest effort. Their self titled album is the bands sophomore effort, following up their previous 2008 release “Relativity”, which was a bit of an up and down album, that slowly plateaued as you listened on. I guess it should have been expected. Given that Jonny Craig had only just joined the band (replacing ex frontman Chris Roetter), and only had a mere 2 weeks to write the entirety of album. This time around, a real sense of progression has been made.

Not only has their sound matured and become a lot more structured and fluid, but also lyrically, the songs are far more mature and well written. All factors pointing to the extra time the band had to fine tune everything and make an album that really is them. Filled with plenty of emotion, hooks and turns. Listeners will surely find themselves not only relating to the lyrical content featured, but also getting caught up in the feeling the actual music presents.

Another big thing that will be noticed, between the two albums, is a bit of a difference in Jonny’s vocals. Everyone knows the man can sing, hitting notes that a lot people can only dream of. However, it’s not something he’s overcooked on this album. It’s used in vast more effective ways. A more chilled approach can be heard throughout the album. As the man said himself; “Everybody knows I can sing; I don’t need to belt out notes 24/7 to prove myself”.

This effort see’s a far more cohesive end product, which openly and honestly, doesn’t feature a bad or boring track at all. This really is one of the most complete albums I’ve personally listened to in ages. With this approach these Kentuckians will surely be toasting long into the future kids.
